Swelling in Feet, Ankles, and Hands
When kidneys can't remove excess fluid from your body, it accumulates in your tissues, causing edema — visible swelling in your feet, ankles, legs, and hands. You might notice your shoes feel tight, your rings don't fit, or pressing a finger into your ankle leaves an indent that takes time to bounce back. This puffiness is often worse in the evening and after standing for long periods.
