Blurred or Changing Vision
High blood sugar causes the lens of your eye to swell, changing its shape and your ability to focus. You might notice your vision gets blurry, or it fluctuates throughout the day — clear in the morning, blurry after meals. This is your body warning you that sugar levels are affecting your eyes. If left uncontrolled, high blood sugar can permanently damage the tiny blood vessels in your retina, leading to diabetic retinopathy.
